The Cue Card (Part 2) is your long-turn performance.
The examiner gives you a task card with a topic and four bullet points, then one minute to prepare and two minutes to speak.

This stage tests your ability to:
✅ Organize ideas quickly
✅ Speak continuously and clearly
✅ Use natural linking phrases and examples

🎯 Band 9 speakers don’t memorize; they create fluent stories from real emotion and simple logic.

🧭 2️⃣ The Cue Card Format

Example Topic:
Describe a memorable journey you had.
You should say:

Where you went
Who you went with
What you did there
And explain why it was memorable

⚙️ 3️⃣ Band 9 Cue Card Structure (The “4-Part Story Formula”)

1️⃣ Introduction	Short start — paraphrase topic	“I’d like to talk about a journey I took to Cox’s Bazar last year.”
2️⃣ Details	Who, When, Where, What	“I went with my family during the summer holidays to enjoy the sea beach.”
3️⃣ Feelings & Experience	Describe emotions, sights, sounds	“The sound of the waves and the golden sand made it feel magical.”
4️⃣ Conclusion / Reflection	End with reason or lesson	“It was unforgettable because it brought my family closer together.”

💡 Think of it like a mini story with emotion, not information.

🧱 4️⃣ 1-Minute Preparation Strategy

When you get the cue card:
1️⃣ Read it carefully (5 seconds).
2️⃣ Circle key words (where, who, what, why).
3️⃣ Quickly write 5–6 notes or keywords only — not full sentences.
4️⃣ Build a story line mentally:
“Start – Middle – End.”

💬 Example notes:
“Cox’s Bazar – family trip – sea beach – swimming – sunset – family time.”

That’s all you need — the rest is your voice and confidence.

💡 5️⃣ Band 9 Connector Words (Story Flow Tools)

Answer:
Well, I’d like to talk about a journey I took to Cox’s Bazar, which is a famous sea beach in Bangladesh. It was about a year ago, and I went there with my family for a short vacation.

We travelled by bus, and it took almost ten hours, but I didn’t mind because we were laughing, listening to music, and watching movies together. When we reached the beach, I was amazed by the view — the endless blue sea, the fresh breeze, and the sound of waves.

We spent the whole day walking along the beach, collecting shells, and taking pictures. In the evening, we watched the sunset — the sky turned orange and pink, and it was absolutely beautiful.

Honestly, this journey was unforgettable because it helped me reconnect with my family after a long time. Even today, whenever I feel stressed, I think about that peaceful sunset, and it makes me smile.
